Rep. Mary Miller discusses county fair visit and questions WHO funding in new posts

Rep. Mary Miller, U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, posted several updates on her official X account on July 20, 2025. The posts ranged from community engagement at the Champaign County Fair to a call for reassessment of U.S. funding for the World Health Organization (WHO).

In her first post of the day, Miller shared her participation in a local event: "Today, I had a wonderful time at the Champaign County Fair! It was an honor to present a special congressional recognition to the 2025 County Fair Queen, Sophia, who is smart, talented, and well-deserving of the crown. I also enjoyed meeting this year’s corn and hay award https://t.co/RpKCmttDxI" (posted July 20, 2025).

Later that morning, she quoted scripture: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” - Philippians 4:8 (posted July 20, 2025).

In a third post later that day regarding international policy and spending priorities Miller wrote: "For too long, the U.S. has funneled taxpayer dollars into the WHO with little transparency and no accountability. It’s time to reassess how our money is spent and start withdrawing from this global organization that fails to serve our interests." (posted July 20, 2025).

Mary Miller has served as representative for Illinois’s 15th District since replacing John Shimkus in 2021. She was born in Oak Park in 1959 and currently resides in Oakland. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University.
