Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Vermilion County?

There were 43 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Vermilion County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Chambana Sun.

The data shows that 39 men and four women were released in Vermilion County. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 34. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Keith M. Haggard. He was convicted of a property crime in 2006 when he was 36 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
