Urbana's Market at the Square seeks public feedback

Marketatthesquare

Urbana's Market at the Square is seeking survey responses as part of an update to the strategic plan that will steer the market's activities for years to come.

Until the end of the month, former and current vendors, community organizations and shoppers can go to http://urbanaillinois.us/marketstrategicplan to fill out a survey designed for each of those three demographic groups. Urbana officials said the survey will take approximately 10 to 20 minutes to complete. The surveys ask a wide range of questions such as how often patrons visit the market, how much they usually spend and how community groups define "local."

The surveys are being administered at the five-year anniversary of the market's original strategic plan, which was implemented in 2011. Market organizers are hoping to use the anniversary as an opportunity to review the accomplishments of the previous goals and set an updated agenda of plans moving forward.

Urbana's Market on the Square is one of the largest farmers' markets in the state, with more than 150 vendors and thousands of shoppers each Saturday morning from May through November.
