U.S. Representative Mary Miller, who serves Illinois’ 15th congressional district, has used her social media platform to criticize teachers' unions and the National Education Association (NEA), while voicing support for legislative action against them.
On July 15, 2025, Miller posted on X: "It’s time to dismantle the corrupt teachers' unions that are failing our kids and poisoning their minds with woke propaganda."
The following day, she expressed support for a legislative effort by stating: "Proud to be a co-sponsor! Let’s get it done. https://t.co/bkA7DybHtt" on July 16, 2025.
Later that same day, Miller criticized the NEA directly in another post: "The NEA has done more to indoctrinate than educate. They FAILED generations of children. Now, we’ll make sure their federal charter is gone for good. https://t.co/ucwVq08srO".
Miller has represented Illinois’s 15th District in Congress since replacing John Shimkus in 2021. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and currently resides in Oakland. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University.
