Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district, has shared her views on various national issues through a series of tweets. Miller, who succeeded John Shimkus in 2021, expressed opinions on language use in America, energy independence, and education policies.
On July 9, 2025, Rep. Mary Miller emphasized the importance of speaking English in the United States by stating "In America, we speak ENGLISH — and that goes for truck drivers, construction workers, factory employees, store clerks, delivery drivers, warehouse crews, and everyone in between." She further asserted that individuals living and working in the country should adopt English as their primary language.
The following day on July 10, 2025, she addressed concerns regarding energy reliance by tweeting "The United States has been blessed with abundant natural resources and dedicated workers. We should NEVER rely on the Chinese Communist Party for energy." This statement underscores her stance on promoting domestic energy resources over foreign dependence.
Later that same day, Rep. Miller commented on educational benefits for illegal immigrants with a tweet stating "For years, illegal aliens got taxpayer-funded education while American families struggled. That ends today." She thanked President Biden and Education Secretary McMahon for addressing this issue.
Mary Miller was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and currently resides in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University.
