Welcoming New American Citizens
On November 30, 2023, a Naturalization Ceremony was held at the Parkland College Theatre, where 113 community members from 36 countries became United States citizens. The event, hosted by the Honorable Eric I. Long, United States Magistrate Judge, Central District of Illinois, Urbana, was attended by staff from the Equity and Engagement Department.The process of naturalization is known to be long and rigorous, but for these individuals, it was a moment of great joy and celebration.
