Urbana offers mobile app for parking meter payment

Urbana residents can now pay for parking and track their remaining balance using their phones or tablets.

Since Feb. 22, the city has offered the MobileMeter app at several parking locations around the city. City officials were enticed to bring the program to Urbana after seeing its success in Champaign.

“We’ve seen how quickly Champaign drivers have taken to the MobileMeter app,” Urbana's Public Facilities Supervisor Vince Gustafson said. “As we were making the decision to add this type of technology, it made the most sense for us to bring MobileMeter here to Urbana. We’re thrilled to offer this convenience to our customers.”

Android and iPhone users can download the app for free at www.mobilemeter.us.
