Illinois women's tennis competes at TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open

The Illinois women's tennis team participated in the TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open held in Fort Worth, Texas, from October 31 to November 2. The event featured a hidden dual match format with 18 teams competing, including No. 40 Illinois against opponents from No. 35 Baylor, Cincinnati, No. 32 Notre Dame, No. 19 Oklahoma, No. 46 TCU, No. 1 Texas A&M, and No. 27 Texas Tech.

The performance of the Illinois players varied over the weekend. Kida Ferrari ended with a doubles record of 0-3 and a singles record of 1-2. Megan Heuser achieved a doubles record of 2-1 but struggled in singles with a record of 0-3. Ariel Madatali also finished with a doubles record of 0-3 and singles at 1-2. Rosie Seccia had similar results with a doubles record of 0-3 and singles at 1-2 as well.

Kasia Treiber stood out in singles play with an undefeated record of 2-0 but did not secure any wins in her three doubles matches alongside different partners. Alice Xu mirrored Heuser's performance in doubles at 2-1 while remaining winless in her singles encounters.

On Thursday's matches, notable victories included Megan Heuser and Alice Xu defeating Mireless/Smetannikov from Texas A&M by scores of "7-6(3)" in doubles play.

Friday saw Kasia Treiber winning against Isabel Pascual from TCU "7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (7)", while Ariel Madatali defeated Yu-Chin Tsai from TCU "6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (9)". Kida Ferrari also secured a victory over Maria Olivia Castedo from Notre Dame "6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (5)".

Saturday's action included another win for the pair Megan Heuser/Alice Xu against Ghirardato/Garcia Ruiz from Oklahoma "6-4" in their second match that day.
