State Senator Chapin Rose | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Rose of Mahomet has expressed strong opposition to the recently passed $55 billion budget by Illinois Democrats. This budget is noted as the largest in the state's history. A significant point of contention is the new $1.50 statewide delivery tax intended to support Chicago's struggling transit system.
Senator Rose criticized the budget, stating, "Democrats just passed a $55 billion budget that raises taxes, slashes education funding, shortchanges care for individuals with developmental disabilities, and bails out Chicago — all at the expense of working families across Illinois."
He further elaborated on his concerns regarding taxpayer funds: "Taxpayer dollars continue to fund healthcare for illegal immigrants. Nearly $270 million in pork projects were added, while they cut funding for higher education, K-12 schools, and early childhood education. Meanwhile, families face rising property taxes — and instead of relief, Democrats cut the property tax relief fund!"
The senator concluded by summarizing his view on Governor J.B. Pritzker's administration: "Illegals over the disabled, pork projects over school kids, property tax relief nowhere to be found, and massive tax increases on the working people of Illinois. That’s J.B. Pritzker’s record."
