The Illinois women's tennis team is set to participate in the ITA Midwest Regional Championship, marking their fourth tournament of the fall season. The entire Fighting Illini squad will compete in Columbus, Ohio, with events spanning five days starting Thursday.

In singles qualifying rounds, Ariel Madatali and Rosie Seccia will represent Illinois. The main draw for both singles and doubles begins on Friday, featuring the remaining six student-athletes in singles matches and all eight players in doubles competition.

The No. 9-ranked duo of Megan Heuser and Alice Xu will reunite after achieving two ranked victories at the ITA All-American Championships in late September. They previously defeated Virginia's Sara Ziodata/Margaret Navarro and Ohio State's Luciana Perry/Sydni Ratliff.

Illinois will also field three other doubles teams: McKenna Schaefbauer/Kasia Treiber, Kida Ferrari/Violeta Martinez, and Ariel Madatali/Rosie Seccia. Ferrari and Martinez recently secured a 2-0 record at the Notre Dame Invite against Tulane and Ohio State teams. Madatali and Seccia also won two matches against Tulane and Columbia at the same event. Schaefbauer and Treiber aim for their first win this season after a successful previous year.

In singles play, Violeta Martinez enters with a perfect 3-0 record from the Notre Dame Invite, having defeated opponents from Tulane, Michigan, and Columbia. Schaefbauer achieved a notable victory over No. 125 Gayathri Krishnan of Columbia during the event.

The ITA Midwest Regional is one of four tournaments serving as qualifiers for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships scheduled for November in Waco, Texas. Automatic berths to the NCAA Championships will be awarded to the two singles main draw finalists and the doubles main draw champion from this regional event.

Tournament draws and daily schedules will be posted once available.
