Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Champaign County?

There were 63 offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Champaign County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Chambana Sun.

The data shows that 51 men and 12 women were released in Champaign County. The median age of the parolees was 38. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2017, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Douglas S. Dees. He was convicted of homicide in 1983 when he was 23 years old. He is now 60.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Champaign County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
