Illinois senior punter Keelan Crimmins has been named to the Ray Guy Award Ray's 8 list for Week 3 of the 2025 college football season, according to an announcement from the award organization on Monday.
During Illinois' recent game against Western Michigan at Gies Memorial Stadium, Crimmins averaged 46.5 yards per punt over four attempts. Two of his punts landed inside Western Michigan’s 20-yard line, including two that traveled more than 50 yards in the second and fourth quarters. He also served as the holder for five successful extra point kicks in Illinois’ 38-0 win.
Crimmins was previously included on the Ray Guy Award Watch List in 2024 and made the Ray's 8 list during his first collegiate season in 2023. This week, he is one of only two Big Ten players recognized, alongside Purdue’s Jack McCallister.
So far this season, Crimmins is averaging 44.9 yards per punt over eight attempts. Illinois, currently ranked ninth nationally, will play #19 Indiana on Saturday night with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on NBC.
