On September 23, the Champaign Police Department held a Coffee with a Cop event at Parlor Doughnut. The program aims to connect police officers and community members in an informal setting to discuss concerns, ask questions, and help residents learn more about their local officers. Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen and staff from the Neighborhood Services Department were also present at the gathering.
Coffee with a Cop is recognized nationally as a way to encourage dialogue between law enforcement and the public. These events take place quarterly at various locations throughout Champaign. The department announced that the final event in the 2025 series will be scheduled soon. Community members are encouraged to follow the Champaign Police on Facebook and Twitter/X for updates about future events.
