Illinois gymnastics dominates EVO Elite Collegiate Open
No. 5 Men's Gymnastics team secured victories against Simpson, Georgia United, and Florida Alliance at the 2024 EVO Elite Collegiate Open in Sarasota, Florida. Illinois achieved the highest score of the event with 416.150 points. Following them were Simpson with 366.100, Georgia United with 288.000, and Florida Atlantic securing a score of 201.950.

Tate Costa shines as Illinois defeats Michigan in gymnastics meet
No. 5 Illinois men's gymnastics team secured a victory over No. 3 Michigan with a score of 413.800 to 410.350 on February 3 at Huff Hall, achieving their highest team score of the season. Sophomore Tate Costa delivered an outstanding performance, setting personal records in four events: floor (14.300), still rings (13.300), parallel bars (13.750), and high bar (14.300). These efforts earned him podium finishes in both the high bar and floor exercise.

Illinois men's gymnastics athletes have been recognized with Big Ten Weekly Awards. Freshman Brandon Dang and sophomore Tate Costa were honored for their performances, with Costa receiving the Gymnast of the Week award and Dang being named Freshman of the Week for the third consecutive time.
