Rep. Mary Miller, U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, addressed issues of religious persecution in Nigeria and U.S. immigration policy in a series of posts on her social media account between November 8 and November 10, 2025.
On November 8, Miller highlighted violence against Christians in Nigeria, stating, "Every day, innocent Christians in Nigeria are brutally attacked, displaced, and murdered simply for their faith in Jesus Christ. This persecution has gone on for too long, and under President Trump’s leadership, it will end. I’m proud to co-sponsor @RepRileyMoore’s effort to https://t.co/WyERMQvJYv".
The following day, she shared a biblical verse from Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (November 9).
On November 10, Miller commented on immigration enforcement under the Trump administration: "Over 1 MILLION illegal aliens have already self-deported since President Trump took office. If you’re here illegally — leave now, or be removed! https://t.co/veNwPSWdYH".
Mary Miller began serving in Congress in 2021 after succeeding John Shimkus. She was elected by a significant margin over Paul Lange in the 2022 general election and previously defeated Erika Weaver in the 2020 general election.
