Illinois will host Illinois State in a women's basketball game on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the State Farm Center in Champaign. The matchup is scheduled to begin at noon Central Time.

Tickets for the game are available as single-game or season options. The event will feature promotions including a "FamILLy Game" and a partnership with Chambana Moms. Fans can access a digital program for more information about the game.

The contest will be streamed live on B1G+, which requires a subscription. Fans can choose between a monthly rate of $12.99 or an annual rate of $89.99 for access to non-televised games, next-day on-demand archives, and Big Ten Network's library of previous Illinois games and original content. Sixteen remaining women’s basketball games this season are set to be streamed via B1G+.

Radio coverage will be provided by the Busey Bank Illini Sports Network and can also be accessed through the Varsity Network App. Live statistics for the game will be available via StatBroadcast.

Illinois enters the game after opening its season with a 91-67 victory over SEMO at home. Sophomore Berry Wallace led the team with a career-high 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Gretchen Dolan and Maddie Webber each contributed 16 points. Freshman Destiny Jackson recorded six assists, setting a new program record for most assists by a freshman in their debut, surpassing Jill Estey's five assists from November 1989.

Five newcomers made their debut against SEMO: Destiny Jackson, Cearah Parchment, Gisela Segura, Lety Vasconcelos, and Maddie Webber combined for 53 points and 15 rebounds. Jackson and Parchment started the game; Jackson scored six points with her record-setting assists while Parchment added eight points in just eleven minutes.

Illinois’ roster features eight newcomers and seven returners this season. Only two players—Gretchen Dolan and Gisela Segura—are above age 21; Segura is the oldest at nearly 23 years old. Cearah Parchment is currently the youngest player on the team at just over eighteen years old.

Head Coach Shauna Green is in her fourth season at Illinois with an overall record of 64-35 (.646) at the school and has guided Illinois to double-digit wins in three consecutive seasons—a first in program history.

The Fighting Illini have played Illinois State thirty-seven times since their first meeting in 1976, holding a slight edge in the all-time series (21-16). However, Illinois has lost its last two matchups against Illinois State; their most recent meeting was in 2019.

Illinois State comes into Sunday’s contest following an 87-76 win over Dayton earlier this week. Their starting lineup accounted for seventy-four of eighty-seven total points; forwards Doneelah Washington and Addison Martin combined for forty-one points while point guard Trista Fayta had nineteen points along with ten assists for a double-double performance.

Kristin Gillespie leads Illinois State as head coach entering her ninth season with an all-time record of 263-160 at ISU. Last year, her Redbirds finished fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference with a record of twenty-four wins and thirteen losses.

Attendance numbers have increased significantly under Coach Green’s tenure at Illinois: during the 2024-25 campaign, total attendance reached eighty-four thousand four hundred thirty-seven across seventeen home regular-season contests—the second-best single-season figure in program history—with an average crowd size of four thousand nine hundred sixty-seven per game.

The current Illini squad is among the youngest teams in Power Five women’s basketball programs by average age (19.91 years). The roster includes five players from Illinois as well as six international athletes representing Brazil, Spain, Australia, and Canada.

New additions to this year’s staff include assistant coach Jackie Alexander who joined after one season at Toledo; she previously served as an Army officer reaching captain rank before coaching stints at several universities.

With top-ranked state recruits from classes of 2023 (Jasmine Brown-Hagger), 2024 (Aaliyah Guyton), and 2025 (Destiny Jackson), Illinois continues to attract high-level local talent.
