The University of Illinois Fighting Illini women's basketball team began its 2025-26 season with a 79-60 exhibition victory over Maryville at the State Farm Center. The game marked the start of Shauna Green's fourth year as head coach.
Twelve players participated in the game, including six making their first appearance for Illinois. The starting lineup included returners Jasmine Brown-Hagger, Gretchen Dolan, and Berry Wallace, joined by freshmen Destiny Jackson and Cearah Parchment. Irene Noya Catoira and Maddie Webber were the first substitutes off the bench.
Cearah Parchment led all scorers with 22 points and 13 rebounds, achieving a double-double. She shot 7-for-11 from the field and added two assists and a steal. Gretchen Dolan contributed 17 points, including three three-pointers, along with two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Berry Wallace scored 11 points on perfect free throw shooting and recorded four rebounds, three assists, and one block.
Lety Vasconcelos finished with seven points, seven rebounds, and a block. Destiny Jackson posted nine points, four steals, two rebounds, and two assists. Maddie Webber added six points as well as two rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Illinois will begin its regular season at home against SEMO on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. CT on B1G+.
