A section of Windsor Road east of Rising Road will be temporarily closed to allow for the replacement of a power pole, according to an announcement from the City of Champaign. The closure is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2025, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., weather permitting.
The work is being conducted by Ameren. Once the new pole is installed, an eastbound lane on Windsor Road will reopen so that traffic can resume in that direction. A flagger will be present at the site to help direct vehicles through the area.
The City has advised motorists to plan for potential delays and use alternate routes if possible during the hours of construction.
