On Tuesday, July 8, staff from the City of Champaign's Equity and Engagement Department and Police Department attended a meeting at the Youth Assessment Center. The attendees included Mikal Washington, Community Relations Specialist; Andre Davis, Justice Victim Advocate; Aaron Lack, Investigations Lieutenant; and Katherine Thompson, Patrol Lieutenant.
The meeting was held at the Brookens Administrative Center and focused on collaborative strategies to address juvenile justice challenges. It highlighted the impactful work done by the Youth Assessment Center in supporting at-risk youth. Updates were provided on recent activities and ongoing efforts to improve the referral process.
