Officers from the Champaign Police Department visited several local summer camps this week. They provided messages on the importance of 9-1-1 and shared technical expertise with children in the area.

On June 17, 2025, Champaign Police officers visited two camps: Indian Acres Swimming Club and Parkland College Child Development Center. Officers engaged with campers aged 2 to 12, answering questions and providing information on using 9-1-1 during emergencies.

The following day, June 18, 2025, the CPD Crime Scene Unit stopped by the Stephens Family YMCA. There they taught campers about fingerprints and evidence collection as part of their Secret Agent Camp.

These efforts are part of how Champaign Police are building connections with community organizations and residents across different age groups.
