The annual Oskees ceremony took place at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois, honoring the athletic and academic achievements of student-athletes from the University of Illinois. This year's highlight was the presentation of the Big Ten Medal of Honor, awarded to golfer Jackson Buchanan and volleyball player Raina Terry. Established in 1915, this prestigious award is given annually to a male and a female student-athlete from each Big Ten institution who have excelled in both academic and athletic pursuits.

Buchanan's four-year career at Illinois featured significant accomplishments, including multiple team victories and individual records. Off the course, he was a finalist for the 2025 Byron Nelson Award and engaged in various community activities in both Illinois and Georgia. Terry concluded her time at Illinois by setting school records and becoming the first Illinois volleyball player drafted into the Pro Volleyball Federation.

The inaugural Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award was given to Abby Lynch and Kenenna Odeluga, highlighting their embodiment of values such as courage and integrity.

The event also recognized the Fighting Illini Spirit Awards, celebrating athletes Matthew Bailey and Adalia McKenzie for their dedication. Top team GPAs were noted for women’s golf and men’s gymnastics, while numerous student-athletes were recognized for having the highest individual GPAs in their respective classes.

Additionally, the swim and dive team received the Illini Way Student-Athlete Development Team Competition Award for its contributions to community engagement, professional development, and leadership. Illini Way Student-Athlete Development Stand Out Athletes were also acknowledged.

Upcoming athlete awards, to be announced in June, include finalists for Dike Eddleman Athlete of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year.
