Ryan Voois, academic all-America honor | University of Illinois Fighting Illini Men's Golf
Fighting Illini golfer Ryan Voois has been named to the 2024-25 Academic All-America Men's At-Large Second Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). This marks Voois's first CSC Academic All-America selection and is the third time an Illini men's golfer has received this honor. Previous recipients include Adrien Dumont de Chassart in 2022-23 and Jackson Buchanan in 2023-24.
Voois, who majors in finance at the Gies College of Business, was also recognized as an Academic All-Big Ten performer for the second consecutive year. He earned GCAA PING All-Midwest Region honors for the second year running and received his first All-Big Ten First Team nod. Originally from Ladera Ranch, California, Voois ranked third on his team with a season stroke average of 71.64, marking a personal best. He finished four tournaments as Illinois' top performer, with notable placements such as T6 at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational and T2 at the NCAA Urbana Regional title.
Overall, Voois recorded 14 rounds in the 60s and achieved top-25 finishes in 11 tournaments, tying him with Herendeen for the most on his team. His performance included 25 rounds at par or better, ranking second on his team.
In addition to Voois's recognition, Illinois Athletics has two other first-team CSC Academic All-America selections this year: Kenta Miyoshi from men's tennis and Lucas Byrd from wrestling. This brings Illinois Athletics' total to 116 CSC Academic All-Americans in its history.
