Fighting Illini women's golf team finished third in the 2025 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship. The tournament took place at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Illinois concluded the event at 6-over with a total score of 870, after carding a 292 (+4) in the third round.
This marks the fourth time in the last seven conference tournaments that Illinois has achieved a top-three finish. Victoria Zheng, a junior, tied for fifth at 2-under (214), marking her best finish of the season. She recorded a 73 (+1) in the final round with three birdies, and led in par 4 scoring average at 3.90 (-3), ranking tied for third among all participants. Alongside Anna Ritter, Zheng led her team with 37 pars and was one of five players to record an eagle.
Anna Ritter finished tied for 12th at 1-over (217) after carding a team-low 72 (E) in the final round. Her performance in the back nine included four birdies. Yurang Li tied for 25th with a score of 220 after a round of 73 (+1). Lexanne Halama tied for 29th with a total of 222, while Brielle Mapanao tied for 68th, posting 230.
Oregon claimed the team title at 12-under (852), and Kiara Romano from Oregon won the individual title with a score of 7-under (209).
The Fighting Illini now await a potential bid to the NCAA Regional, with the selection show scheduled for Wednesday at 12 p.m. CT on Golf Channel.
