State Senator Chapin Rose has expressed his concerns following the announcement that Health Alliance will cease operations by 2026. In a statement, Sen. Rose conveyed his reaction to the news and outlined steps he plans to take in response.
"I am shocked, stunned, and saddened to learn of this," said Sen. Rose, emphasizing the impact on employees, their families, and the many insured individuals relying on Health Alliance for healthcare access. He assured constituents that his office is ready to assist with job training and recruitment efforts for those affected.
Sen. Rose has contacted the state's CMS Director to discuss healthcare options available during open enrollment in May for families currently using Health Alliance as their insurance provider. He stressed the importance of maintaining continuity of care and access to trusted physicians as members transition to new insurance carriers.
"Continuity of care and access to trusted physicians must be the priority as thousands of local members will now be forced to find a new insurance carrier," Sen. Rose stated. "Being able to choose your medical care team going forward is an absolute imperative."
