State Senator Chapin Rose, representing Mahomet, has been reappointed as the chief budget negotiator for the Senate Republican Caucus in Illinois. As the ranking Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Rose will have a significant role in shaping the state budget during the 104th General Assembly.
Senator Rose expressed his commitment to this position by stating, "I am honored to continue serving as the Senate Republican Caucus’s chief budget negotiator." He criticized Governor Pritzker's handling of state finances, saying, "The state’s budget needs to reflect the priorities of the people of Illinois. Governor Pritzker has failed to do that. In fact, under Governor Pritzker’s leadership, we now have a massive $3 billion budget deficit. The people of my district have plainly said they have had enough of Governor Pritzker’s spending."
Beyond his duties as chief budget negotiator, Senator Rose will also serve on several other important committees: Appropriations-Education, Financial Institutions, Insurance, and Judiciary.
