Illinois continued its unbeaten streak at the State Farm Center with a 70-52 victory over Bradley on Thursday night. The Fighting Illini now hold a 6-0 home record for the 2024-25 season and have secured their tenth consecutive home win.
Adalia McKenzie led Illinois with a season-high 23 points, scoring 15 in the second half. She also contributed six rebounds, three steals, and one assist. Kendall Bostic recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 22 points and ten rebounds, shooting 10-for-14 from the field. Bostic added three assists and one block to her performance. Genesis Bryant also had a strong showing with 15 points, four assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
Bradley initially took an early lead before Illinois responded with a series of scoring runs to take control of the game. Bostic's offensive rebound led to Illinois' first points of the night, followed by an Illini run that put them ahead. Despite Bradley's efforts to regain control, Illinois maintained their lead throughout the game.
In the second quarter, Bostic's back-to-back baskets sparked an Illini run that extended their lead to seven points at halftime. All of Illinois' first-half points came from starters, with Bostic leading with 13 points.
The second half saw Illinois extend their advantage further despite a brief comeback attempt by Bradley. An impressive defensive effort in the fourth quarter held Bradley scoreless for over five minutes as Illinois secured an 18-point lead before closing out the game.
