Fall tennis competitions are underway for three members of the Fighting Illini. McKenna Schaefbauer will participate in the ITA Sectional Championships, while Megan Heuser and Alice Xu are set to compete at the ITA Conference Masters Championships. The Sectionals will take place at Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, and the Conference Masters will be held at the Rome Tennis Center in Georgia.

Schaefbauer is scheduled to face Iowa's Tereza Dejnozkova in the Round of 32 singles on Thursday, with matches starting at 9 a.m. CT. The ITA Sectional Championships include players who have not yet secured entry into the NCAA Championships but have performed well in previous ITA events. The Central Sectional features teams from various regions including schools like Michigan, Texas A&M, and Ohio State.

The schedule for the Sectionals begins with the Singles Round of 32 on Thursday and concludes with the Singles Final on Sunday.

In Georgia, Heuser and Xu, ranked No. 9, will begin their doubles play against NJIT's Irene Cocero and Laura Wipfli on Thursday evening at 4:30 p.m. CT. They represent the Big Ten among tandems from 32 conferences competing in this event. Three doubles teams will advance to the NCAA Doubles Championship based on their performance here.

The schedule for the Conference Masters starts with the Doubles Round of 32 on Thursday and ends with both the Doubles Final and Consolation Final on Sunday.
