The University of Illinois men's gymnastics team, ranked second nationally, is set to face off against the fifth-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers in a Big Ten matchup on Sunday, March 10. The competition will take place at the Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, starting at 1 p.m. CT.

Historically, Illinois has maintained a strong record against Nebraska with 45 wins and 31 losses. Last season, they secured a significant victory over the Cornhuskers with a score of 411.550 to 395.250. In recent years, Illinois has only been defeated twice by Nebraska in their last four encounters.

Nebraska recently finished second in a quad meet that included Air Force, Cal, and Stanford. Notable performances from the Huskers included Cooper Giles winning the pommel horse event and Sam Phillips securing an all-around title.

Illinois has climbed to the number two spot in the Road to Nationals rankings following their impressive win over William & Mary and Simpson. The team boasts several athletes ranked nationally across various events: Connor McCool on floor exercise, Tate Costa also on floor exercise, Brandon Dang on pommel horse among others.

The upcoming contest promises to be competitive as both teams showcase their top gymnasts.
