Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Nov. 1

Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order 

Village President, Joyce Ragle, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  

2. Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and roll call taken. Present was Village President, Joyce Ragle, Village Trustees, Dee Ann Hoffman, Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, Nathan Nierenhausen and Todd Jamison; Village Trustee and ESDA Coordinator, Robert Russian; Village Clerk, Christine Conner, Village Maintenance, Rob Wood, Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed, and Village Attorney, Elizabeth Megli. Village Treasurer, Melanie Schultz, was absent. 

3. Presentations/Comments from the General Public – None 

4. New Trustee 

4.1. Motion made by Rob Russian, second by Dee Ann Hoffman, to appoint Janice Thomas as Trustee to the Village Board. Motion passed. Oath was administered and Janice took a seat at the table.

5. Consent Agenda

Motion made by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion passed. 

6. Approval of Bills Received After Preparation of Treasurer’s Report – None 

7. Reports 

7.1. Village Clerk, Christine ConnerRental requested for November, 2023, and two rentals are scheduled for December, 2023. 

7.2. Village Maintenance, Rob Wood

Rob reported five (5) trees in the Village will need to be taken down in the future. Two of these trees are in Hartman Park. 

7.3. Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed

Lyle reported issuing a permit for a Solar Array at 309 N. Elm St. 

7.4. ESDA Coordinator, Rob RussianRob reported Emergency systems are in good working order.

8. Old Business

The Village is awaiting further response from Berns Clancy & Associates.

9. New Business – None 

10. Presentations/Comments from the Board

Ordinance Violation notices have been sent to residents at 102 E. Lincoln St. and 6 Harness Lane.   

11. Correspondence – None

12. Announcements

12.1. Next Village Board Meeting, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 6:30 p.m.

12.2. Next Study Session will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023, 6:30 p.m.

13. Adjournment 

Motion to adjourn was made by Robert Russian, second by Dee Ann Hoffman. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
