Kendall Bostic, a notable figure in Fighting Illini women's basketball and a two-time graduate of the University of Illinois, has joined the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) as Assistant Director of Development, Varsity I. In her new role, Bostic will oversee DIA's Varsity I initiatives aimed at fostering engagement and participation among former student-athletes through reunions, member events, and alumni-focused programs.

The Varsity I Association, established in 1939, unites all University of Illinois letterwinners and former student-athletes, coaches, and support staff to build lifelong relationships with current participants in Fighting Illini Athletics.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kendall in this important role and are pleased that she will continue representing the Fighting Illini," stated Director of Athletics Josh Whitman. "Throughout her playing career, Kendall has distinguished herself on and off the court, and her passion for the University of Illinois and our local community has been on full display. She will be an incredible ambassador for the Orange and Blue, and she will help strengthen our famILLy by building meaningful connections with Fighting Illini student-athletes past, present and future."

Bostic played for the Fighting Illini from 2021 to 2025. During her tenure, she contributed significantly to the team's success with two NCAA Tournament appearances and a victory in the 2024 WBIT Championship. She led the Big Ten in rebounds per game each season at Illinois and holds records as the program's all-time leading rebounder and double-doubles record holder. Originally from Kokomo, Indiana, Bostic started all 125 games during her career after transferring before her sophomore year.

"I am extremely excited to get to work with and serve all the student-athletes and alumni who have represented the Fighting Illini," said Bostic. "As a former student-athlete myself, I understand how important it is to have people in your corner, especially those who have been in our shoes. I can't wait to connect and grow relationships with former letterwinners from all different sports and eras in my new position!"

Throughout her career at Illinois, Bostic was recognized for leadership qualities as well as community involvement. In 2024 she received the Big Ten Medal of Honor; she was also a First Team All-Big Ten selection during her final year while earning conference honors throughout all four seasons with Illinois. Her accolades include being named to the WBIT All-Tournament Team; winning four Big Ten Sportsmanship Awards; achieving Academic All-Big Ten status four times; receiving three CSC Academic All-District honors; along with winning Illinois' Female Spirit Award in 2023.

Bostic completed her bachelor's degree in speech and hearing sciences from Illinois in May 2023 followed by obtaining a master's degree specializing within special education come May 2025.
