Join Us Sunday for Worship
Join us this Sunday in the Sanctuary for our 9:30 a.m. traditional service. Please remember to wear a mask and practice safe distancing as we work to ensure everyone's health and wellbeing.

If you prefer to worship with us online, the livestream of the service is available each Sunday, also at 9:30 a.m., via the YouTube channel link below.

And remember - the Sunday 11:15am Contemporary Service
also meets each week, in person, in Watseka Lounge.

New Study at Wesley - begins Sept. 9th
Join us as we learn how to use different spiritual practices to find some balance with Soul Reset: Breakdown, Breakthrough, and the Journey to Wholeness, by Rev. Junius Dotson. This six-week study will meet on Thursdays at noon via Zoom beginning tomorrow September 9. Books may be purchased online or in the center office; a Kindle e-book is also available. Contact Pastor Jess for more information or if you are interested in participating in this study. 

Join Wesley this year for CROP Walk!
Take action to help end hunger locally and globally by signing up to join in this year’s C-U Interfaith CROP Hunger Walk.  The kick-off will be Sunday, October 3rd at 2:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Champaign and on C-U CROP Walk Facebook live. 75% of funds support global hunger relief through CWS; 25% stays local for Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Sola Gratia Farm, East Illinois Food Bank and Wesley Food Pantry.  Register online to be on the Wesley Walker team or make a donation at tinyurl.com/CROP-Wesley

Fresh Air Yoga - 
11:05am to 11:45am 
Beginning Sept. 10th
Do you need time to unwind after a long week of stress? Or maybe you just need that light workout right before lunch. Join us outside next Friday from 11:05am to 11:45am in the Pantry Garden Area for Fresh Air Yoga where Pastor Jessica LeCrone will lead a yoga session. 

We encourage those who are coming to bring their own Yoga Mat if they have one. However, if you do not own a Yoga Mat, we are able to loan you one to use for the yoga session. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Jess.

Join us on Sept. 17 for the 
Habitat Thrivent Build!
Please Join Us for Habitat Thrivent Build on Friday, September 17 Wesley is participating in the CU Habitat 2021 Thrivent build. Thrivent Faith Builds bring local churches together to raise roofs, walls, funds and prayers to build a house in partnership with a family in Champaign Urbana. Habitat needs volunteers who can work during the week and Wesley members will be working on Friday, September 17.  

The address of the build is 112 North Champaign St., Champaign Il 61801. The workday is from 8am to 3pm. It will be the most exciting day of the build as we will be putting up walls. John Spurgeon will be in church this Sunday with the particulars and to sign up volunteers. Habitat does request that all volunteers be vaccinated against Covid 19. Lloyd C. Helper
Wesley would like to share our condolences with Jean Helper and family at the death of her husband, Lloyd C. Helper, on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Lloyd was a long-time Wesley Church member and an alumnus of the Wesley Foundation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins, Colorado. There will be a Memorial Service for Lloyd on Saturday, September 11th at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley in the Watseka Lounge. 

Scriptural Foundation Class
The Scriptural Foundations Class is studying the New York Times Best-Seller, The Universal Christ: How a Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope For, and Believe In, by Richard Rohr. This Sunday! Grad Student Meet & Greet - Sept. 12th at 6pm
The Grad Student Group will host a meet & greet for all graduate students, postdocs, and young professionals Sunday, September 12, at 6pm around the fire pit near the food pantry garden. We'll chat about fall plans, discuss our next book study, and talk about other ways to get connected as we roast hot dogs & veggie dogs and enjoy a meal. It's a great way to meet people from various disciplines and share the ups & downs of academic life! Questions? Contact Meg Cole for more information.

Midweek Campfire Begins 
Tonight, Sept. 8th!
We’re excited to resume Midweek, our middle-of-the-week student gathering & worship, Wednesday evenings at 8pm around our new fire pit! All students are invited to join us as we enjoy gourmet S’mores, meet new friends, explore faith, and experience a fun night around the campfire! We hope to see you there as we share a short devotional, great conversation, and more, and explore our questions, doubts, and faith journeys together.

In Your Image: A Queer Space
This group is for questioning and LGBTQIA2S+ students and young adults who gather to celebrate and support one another through the unique challenges of being a Queer Christian. We meet every Thursday on Zoom at 8:00 p.m. You don’t have to be out to join us - what happens at Queer Space, stays at Queer Space! Fresh Air Yoga - Starts Sept. 10th!
Do you need time to unwind after a long week? Or maybe you enjoy a light workout before lunch. Bring your friends and join us this Friday from 11:05am to 11:45am by the food pantry garden for Fresh Air Yoga, led by Pastor Jess. This will be a gentle yoga for all levels, so everyone is welcome! Friday with Friends Picnic - this Friday!
Sept. 10, 11:30am to 1pm
We're so happy to bring back another favorite gathering - Friday with Friends lunch, but with a twist! Join us in Lamb Courtyard (on the Green St. side of Wesley's building) for food, fellowship, and fun as we meet new friends, hang out, & kick off the weekend in style. Bring your own lunch (or enjoy some of our grab & go snacks), bring your friends, and let’s celebrate making it through the week!

Free ESL Class Meeting On Zoom
The Wesley Student Center offers an ESL class for beginning through advanced students every Friday from 3pm to 4pm on Zoom. We invite international students, visiting scholars, family members, and community folks to join us as we practice English, make new friends, and learn about American culture. Questions? International Coffeehouse Online
We invite everyone - Americans & internationals - to join us for an hour of conversation and connecting with friends each Friday on Zoom from 5-6pm. Bring your own coffee/tea and snacks and join us as we catch up from our week, practice English, enjoy games, meet new people, and celebrate our various cultures. International Reading Group
The Wesley Student Center's International Reading Group (for Advanced ESL learners) meets every Tuesday at 9:00am to read current articles, improve English pronunciation, and expand vocabulary. Parking at Wesley
If you park in the church parking lot during the week for events, studies, or meetings, please sign in your car in the center office and put a parking permit on your car's dash. This helps keep the parking lot available for students and community members. You may park in the reserved spots next to the building.
