The University of Illinois men's golf team, currently ranked No. 18 in the NCAA men's golf team rankings and No. 8 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll, is set to compete in the 3rd Annual Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. The event will take place from October 18 to 20 at Fallen Oak at Beau Rivage Resort in Saucier, Mississippi.
The tournament is co-hosted by Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss. Illinois enters this event following a runner-up finish at the Moraine Intercollegiate, marking their third top-five result in as many tournaments this fall.
Fallen Oak Course, recognized as Mississippi's top golf course and designed by Tom Fazio, will host the 54-hole event over three days. The course features an 18-hole, par-72 layout stretching 7,487 yards and is located near Biloxi in De Soto National Forest.
Fourteen programs are participating in the tournament, with eight ranked within the top 60 of the latest NCAA men's golf team ranking. Alongside Illinois, highly ranked SEC teams such as Arkansas (5), Ole Miss (7), LSU (9), Tennessee (19), Alabama (20), Georgia (36), South Carolina (38), and Mississippi State (55) are also competing. Other teams include UNLV (69), Southern Miss, Iowa (80), Chattanooga (95), and Wisconsin (154).
