Atwood Fire Protection District responded to nine calls in 2018 - 30.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Atwood included six fires - two structure fires, two vehicle fires and two other fires.

The department also received three false calls.

The Atwood Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $131,427 in 2018.

The Atwood FPD Firefighters Pension Fund, which has active employee and one retired or inactive employee, was $12,787 in debt as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $1,162 for every fire in 2017.
