Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Dec. 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order

2. Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call

Present were President, Joyce Ragle, Village Trustees, DeeAnn Hoffman, Fred Smitley, Cheryl Smitley, Dianne Reed and Stephanie Hackett; Village Treasurer, Melanie Schultz, Village Clerk, Christine Conner and Attorney, Elizabeth Megli. Also present was Maintenance Head, Rob Wood. Absent were Trustee, Randy Shannon and ESDA Head, Rob Russian.

3. Presentations/Comments from the General Public

None

4. Routine Matters

4.1 Approval of Consent Items

Dianne Reed made a motion to approve consent items, seconded by Fred Smitley. Motion carried.

4.2 Bill Payment, bills received after report

Dianne Reed made a motion, seconded by Fred Smitley, to approve payment of $308.19 to Crossroads, payment of $204.11 to Tuscola Home Center and a payment of $1149.63 to First Bank card. Motion carried.

5. Reports

5.1 Village Clerk, Christine Conner
Chris updated the Village of Pesotum information sheet of elected and appointed village officials and provided all with a copy.

5.2 Village Maintenance, Rob Wood 
Rob reported he and Rob Russian worked on the tornado siren. It did not perform as expected when tested. Jim Arnold has the wheel of the fire engine to repair. Greg Little provided a quote of $3500 to paint the fire engine. Discussion postponed to Study session.

5.3 Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed 


Lyle reported a permit was issued for a vertical transport at 212 S. Chestnut St.

5.4 ESDA Coordinator, Rob Russian 


No report as Rob was absent.

6. Old Business

7. New Business

7.1 Discussion and approval of Ordinance 19-01


Cheryl Smitley made a motion to approve Ordinance 19-01, seconded by Dianne Reed. Motion passed. This precludes the sale of cannabis within the city limit, whether for medicinal or recreational use.

7.2 Discussion on solicitors/peddlers


Discussion postponed to Study session.

8. Presentations/Comments from the Board


Fred Smitley reported he talked to Graham Schmidt about Spring clean up of the ball field at Hartman Park
Stephanie Hackett reported the Winter newsletter was sent to the printer.
