Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Champaign County?

There were 56 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Champaign County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Chambana Sun.

The data shows that 51 men and five women were released in Champaign County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Tyson Biggers. He was convicted of a property crime in 2007 when he was 29 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Champaign County municipality.
