City of Champaign issued the following announcement on Feb. 22.
In order to perform routine storm sewer maintenance activities, Hoerr Construction, Inc. will be closing single lanes of South Mattis Avenue between Healey Street and John Street. These single lane closures will be of short length and time duration and will affect only one travel lane at any given time. This work will impact northbound travel at various times throughout the week. Traffic in these areas will be merged into a single lane through a short construction work zone.
Work is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, February 25, and is planned to be completed by Friday, March 1, by 4 p.m. Minor traffic delays may occur.
