Champaign City Council issued the following announcement on July 19.
In order to complete asphalt street repairs, the Public Works Department will intermittently close lanes of Mattis Avenue between Springfield Avenue and Kirby Avenue. This work will take place Monday through Friday and at least one lane of northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained at all times. The work will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23 and is planned to be completed by Friday, August 31.
Please pay close attention to construction signs and traffic control devices. Please proceed cautiously through construction zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. The City of Champaign thanks you for your cooperation and patience during this construction season.
