Georgetown FPD responds to 41 fires in 2017

Georgetown Fire Protection District responded to 55 calls in 2017 - 8.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Georgetown included 41 fires - 16 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 22 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $91,300 in fire loss - or about $2,227 per fire.

The department also received 13 false calls.

The Georgetown Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $605,459 in 2017.
