Champaign Community Unit School District No. 4 Board of Education issued the following announcement on June 11.
Congratulations to Mr. Jesse Guzman, who has been selected as the next principal of Jefferson Middle School.
Mr. Guzman is currently known by families, staff and the community as associate principal/summer school principal of Jefferson Middle School. He has held this position since July 2017, following a one-year interim appointment in this role. Mr. Guzman has served as a middle level summer school principal since April 2014. He also spent two years as the assistant principal of Jefferson (2014-2016) and nine years as an eighth grade social studies teacher at Edison Middle School (2005-2014).
Mr. Guzman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, with a concentration in social studies from St. Louis University (2005). He earned a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2014 and is currently working toward his Superintendent Endorsement.
Mr. Guzman will transition into his role as principal on July 1, 2018.
