Champaign City Council issued the following announcement on May 18.
Street closures are planned as part of Phase 2 of the West Washington Street Drainage Improvements Project. Columbia Avenue and Miller Avenue will be closed in order to install storm sewers and other utilities, more specifically:
• Columbia Avenue will be closed from Carson Avenue to Draper Avenue
• Miller Avenue will be closed from Church Street to Washington Street
These street closures began May 14 and are scheduled for completion at the end of June, depending on weather. The streets will be closed to all traffic for the entire planned duration, including the overnight hours.
