City of Gibson issued the following announcement on May 8.
This year's City-Wide clean up day is Saturday, May 19th, 2018. Hours are from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and The location will be at Strebeck Salvage (Route 9 West, behind Gibson City Redi-Mix). Elderly or disabled residents can arrange for pick up by calling (217)-784-5129. You can also call this number if you have any questions regarding clean-up day.
Rules as follows:
- Must live within city limits
- Electronics will be accepted
- Hazardous Waste/ Yard Waste will NOT be accepted
- Tires will be accepted during business hours Monday-Friday, with fees including $3 per tire, $8 per semi tire, and $37 per tractor tire.
- $ Donations will be accepted on site for the Gibson City Beautification Program
