The Village of Mahomet Board of Trustees met, Tuesday October 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Mahomet Administrative Offices, 503 E. Main St., Mahomet, IL.

Members Present: Bruce Colravy, David Johnson, Andy Harpst, Donald Lynn, Bill Oliger and Brian Metzger

Others Present: Village President Sean Widener, Village Clerk Cheryl Sproul, Village Treasurer Jeanne Schacht, Jim Evans Village Attorney, Mike Metzler Police Chief, Community Development Director Kelly Pfeifer, Village Planner Abby Heckman, Hank Kazmarkski, and Fred Kroner editor of the Mahomet Citizen

Call To Order:

Pledge Of Allegiance/Roll Call:

President Widener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Roll Call was taken and a quorum was present.

Public Comment:

Hank Kazmarski stated he lived at 1802 Buckthorn but was there about 402 E. Main St. He stated he wanted to thank the Board for implementing the Façade Improvement program and for awarding a portion to the Victorian House in order to install new windows in their building. He stated many people have been commenting on how the building looks and like the improvement the new windows have made.

Metzger requested that Ordinance 17-10-01, be removed from the Consent agenda for further discussion and action.

Lynn moved, Harpst seconded, “To Approve The Consent Agenda After Removing Item B-3, Ordinance 17-10-01, An Ordinance Prohibiting Parking On Certain Streets Within The Village Of Mahomet.” Roll Call: All Yes. Motion carried

Other Ordinances, Resolutions And Motions (To Be Acted Upon)

Ordinance 17-10-01, An Ordinance Prohibiting Parking On Certain Streets Within The Village Of Mahomet:

Heckman stated some revisions were made to the location of the no-parking areas after additional discussion with a representative from Waterford at Bridlebrook.

She noted that the north side of Patton Drive would be designated no parking but the parking would be permitted on the south side with the exception of a small area.

She stated she did inform Bridlebrook and others that the area would be monitored for 6 months to see how it was working and if it might need to be revisited and the entire south side made no parking.

Metzger moved, Johnson seconded, “To Approve Ordinances 17-10-01, An Ordinance Prohibiting Parking On Certain Streets Within The Village Of Mahomet.” Roll Call: All Yes. Motion carried.

Resolution 17-10-05, A Resolution Approving The Tentative Tax Levy 2017/2018:

Widener asked if any additional questions or input, there being none, Harpst moved, Colravy seconded, “To Approve Resolution 17-10-05, A Resolution Approving The Tentative Tax Levy 2017/2018.” Roll Call: All Yes. Motion carried.

Administrator’s Report:

No report due to the absence of Administrator Brown.

Mayor’s Report:

November 2017 Board And Study Session Meeting Calendar:

Widener stated the combined November 2017 Study Sessions was scheduled for November 14 at 6:00 p.m. and the Board meeting would be held on November 28th at 6:00 p.m. He asked the Trustees if there were any known absences for those 2 meeting and there were none.

Widener read a prepared press release in response to a statement by People’s Gas. Widener stated the document would be released later to the press and posted to the Village website and social media for the public. He stated the test results would also be available and showed no impact on the Village’s source of water.

Widener stated MAYC would be holding an Open House and Dedication of their new location on W. Main Street. He stated the Open House would be held November 18th from 2-5, with the Dedication at 3 p.m.

Harpst asked when the approved Ordinance designating the stop signs. Pfeifer stated they would be effective November 1.

There being no further business, Harpst moved, Johnson seconded, “To Adjourn At 6:08 p.m.” Roll Call: All Yes. Motion carried.
