The Rantoul Village Board of Trustees met in special session July 19 to approve participation in a solar energy resource project.

The Rantoul Village Board meets at 6:15 p.m. on the first and second Tuesday of each month in the Louis B. Schelling Memorial Board Room at the Municipal Building, 333 S. Tanner St.

A special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Rantoul was held at 6:00 P.M.; Mayor Smith called the proceeding to order.

Roll Call The Village Clerk called the roll, finding the following members present:

Mayor Charles Smith and Trustees, Gary Wilson, Ken Turner, Jennifer Fox, Hank Gamel and Chad Smith -6.

Public Participation There were no Rantoul Citizens to Participate.

“NOTE FROM THE RANTOUL VILLAGE CLERK, ALL OF THE AGENDA ITEMS LISTED BELOW CARRIED BY A ROLL CALL VOTE OF 5 TO 0, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED BELOW”

• Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2490, AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF RANTOUL, ILLINOIS APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN SOLAR ENGERY RESOURCE PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A GENERATION SITING AND OPERATING AGREEMENT WITH THE ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC AGENCY. Trustee Wilson moved for approval and Trustee Gamel seconded the motion.

• Motion to authorize and approve an agreement with Cross Construction Company for the neighborhood overlay of local roadway projects at a total cost of $858,000.00 with a contingency of $40,000.00 or an estimated Total Cost of $898,000.00 (High Street, Garden Street, Englewood Drive, Birch Drive, Phillips Drive, Locust Avenue and Bethany Park between Enterprise and Alpers for a total lineal feet of approximately 5,304 feet). Trustee Wilson moved for approval and Trustee Fox seconded the motion.

Adjournment Trustee Fox moved to adjourn the Special Meeting of the Rantoul Village Board and Trustee Smith Seconded the motion. The Clerk Called the Roll and the motion passed by a vote of 5 – 0.

MEETING ADJOURNED AT 6:09 P.M.
