The city of Urbana Community Development Commission met Feb. 23 to approve the annual action plan.

The city's Grants Management Division Manager Kelly Mierkowski provided a brief overview of the staff report that included HUD activities, staff activities, meetings attended, and various projects and programs.

The commission also received a refresher on the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) through the Illinois Department of Human Services. Local shelters are able to apply through the Champaign County Continuum of Care for funds. In 2015, Community Elements, Crisis Nursery and the Salvation Army received ESG funding.

The commission meets at 400 S. Vine St.
