The Mahomet Village Board advanced an ordinance during a study session March 15 that would allow the village to adopt a new comprehensive plan.

The plan was developed for the village by a special consultant hired at a cost of $45,000.

The board also reviewed a resolution authorizing improvements in the Lake Ridge Subdivision and an ordinance authorizing the publication of the village's latest zoning map. Village officials estimated there were 14 rezonings during 2015 that are reflected on the new map.

Trustees Vicki Cook and Brian Metzger were absent.
