The Champaign City Council will hold a study session Tuesday night at 7 at the Champaign City Building to discuss the city's plans for meeting Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
The city last passed an ADA compliance plan more than 20 years ago. Tuesday's meeting will seek council input on a draft of a new plan compiled by city staff that would bring the city compliant with current federal accessibility requirements.
The council will also review suggestions for changes to the city's Housing Assistance Program Manual. The proposals include changes to existing housing services programs, five new programs based on community feedback and council goals, and a requirement for revisions every five years. A draft of the new housing manual is expected to be available for public review in March.
Finally, the council will discuss revisions to its response plans for the fire department and other emergency service providers serving privately owned buildings on the University of Illinois campus area.
The Champaign City Building is at 102 N. Neil St.
