The Philo Board of Trustees voted unanimously to add $700 to the village's tax levy at its Dec. 9 meeting at the R.E. Franks Meeting Center.
The motion was presented by the village attorney in response to previous directions from the board to cover police expenses.
The board approved Larry Franks' appointment of Larry Adelsberger to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The board also discussed the progress of the Dollar General store under construction. David Atchley said that site inspections were complete and the concrete foundation has been poured.
Before adjourning, the board approved its 2016 meeting schedule.
Trustee Paul Brady was absent.
