The village of Mahomet board of trustees will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
The trustees will consider making a decision on the village's video gaming policy. The state legalized public video gambling in 2009 and several neighboring communities have taken advantage by opening up licensed locations nearby, but Mahomet has maintained a ban on it locally. Proponents of ending the ban have pointed to the potential sales tax revenue and boost to local businesses, while opponents remain skittish.
The meeting will open with a public hearing on the current tax levy for bridge and street maintenance. The hearing will be followed by a vote to approve the tax levy, barring any significant influence during the public hearing.
A change to the village's liquor ordinance is on the agenda as well.
The meeting will be held at the administrative offices at 503 E. Main St.
