Champaign issues building permits for high-value construction projects

The Champaign Fire Department's Building Safety Division has issued several building permits for projects with an estimated construction value of $250,000 or more. These permits were granted for various types of construction, including new residential buildings, alterations, and additions.

Among the projects approved is a new single-family dwelling at 3401 Palmer Dr., valued at $348,500, and a roof replacement on East Green Street with a construction value of $507,000. Another significant project includes alterations to a warehouse facility on Bloomington Road, which holds an estimated value of $3,240,000.

A new commercial multi-family dwelling is planned for 2416 N Neil St., with a construction cost of $3,474,330. Additionally, a health clinic on South Mattis Avenue will undergo alterations valued at over four million dollars.

Overall, the year-end construction value for 2025 stands at approximately $104.9 million.
