Shooting investigation underway after man injured near Clock Street

Champaign Police responded to reports of gunfire near Giboney Street and Tower Street at 10:38 p.m. on June 7, 2025. Shortly after, a 21-year-old man from Champaign arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to his arm and torso. He is currently in stable condition following immediate medical attention.

The police investigation suggests the man was driving through an alley near Clock Street when his vehicle was shot at by unidentified individuals, resulting in his injuries. Officers remained on site for several hours to gather evidence and seek witnesses or video footage that could assist in the investigation. Damage was noted on one vehicle related to this incident.

Authorities are encouraging residents or businesses with exterior surveillance systems in the vicinity to contact them. No arrests have been made so far, but updates will be provided as new information emerges.
